Love Inc.
What is Love INC? ....Love INC means "Love In the Name of Christ". Love INC networks area churches to help show God's love to people in practical and effective ways, believing that the resources to meet any need can be found in the Body of Christ and that by working together, we can make a real difference.
....Love INC is not a welfare program. It's a proven system that changes lives, with a love that transforms. When church members reach out and mentor to those with needs, lasting relationships are formed with positive results for all involved.
....Love INC serves as the missing link between individuals, agencies and churches. It helps reduce unnecessary duplication of services. It encourages caring Christians to come alongside those who are often dependent or have many needs, in order to teach them practical living skills to better help themselves. Love INC encourages the development of individuals and/or families to be self-sufficient.

"Sharing Christ At The Crossroads To The South"
United Methodist Missions at Work in the World
Breezewood Trucker-Traveler Chaplaincy
This important ministry is one of our Altoona District priorities for mission support. Chaplain Bruce Maxwell has provided excellent leadership and guidance for this program. He writes in his newsletter:
"With your help, the Breezewood Trucker-Traveler Chaplaincy programs learn anew the meaning of hospitality and Good Samaritan assistance with each person who comes seeking help and answers. Highway life can be a wealth of blessings as well as a threat to the soul with competition fierce at times for the hearts of men and women. The questions do surface: What shall I do? Where am I to go? What is my purpose? We can turn and believe the One Source that holds all guidance, and will never fail in abiding with us. The Lord God Almighty is the One. Praise!
Highway interstate communities have opportunities to contribute in significant ways: to fulfill a calling of hospitality among those who live and labor in the transportation industries. We value your involvement and interest in helping to represent the gospel in busy 24 hour a day highway workplaces.
Outreach projects and activities among Trucker-Traveler Ministries include the following:
- Bibles, bookmarks, small crosses or other symbols of faith, devotional literature, Guide Posts, etc.
- Preaching/music and Bible on cassette tapes for truckers to listen to while driving.
- Posters, banners to be displayed in truck stops.
- Ziplock car packages: face towel, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, shampoo, razor, cracker snack, and devotional.
- Office help; computer operations, mailings, etc.
- Sponsoring "hospitality tables;" cookies, fruit, juice, devotionals, Bibles offered in truck stops on holidays.
- Adopting a local trucking terminal for prayer and/or outreach projects.
We look forward to your participation and thank-you for helping to make real the expanding ministries of the body of Christ in a growing industry. God's peace and blessings be known among you."

Your Safe Haven
Bedford County's Crime Victim Center
Although many people in the Bedford County community are aware that Your Safe Haven provides a domestic violence shelter for battered women and their children, many people do not know that there are many other services provided through the agency.
Your Safe Haven, Inc. is a Comprehensive Crime Victim Center providing crisis intervention and supportive services to all crime victims, their children, and their significant others. Persons impacted by such crimes as: Domestic Violence; Sexual Assault; Theft; Physical Assault; Burglary; Robbery; Homicide; DUI-Related Crimes; and Adult Survivors of Sexual Assault are eligible to receive all agency services free-of-charge. These services include, but are not limited to: 24 Hour Hotline; Information & Referral; Emergency Shelter; Counseling Services; Legal and Medical Accompaniment; Advocacy; Victim/Witness Services through the Adult and Juvenile Justice Systems; and assistance in applying for Crime Victims' Compensation funds. Additionally, a variety of free educational programs are available to all members of the community and community residents are encouraged to "get involved" in responding to victims within their community through the agency's volunteer opportunities.
All of Your Save Haven's staff members have attended many hours of specialized training provided through the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape, the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence, and the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime & Delinquency. Additionally, five of the agency's staff completed the national acclaimed NOVA (National Organization of Victims Assistance) Crisis Response Training and participate as members of the Keystone Crisis Intervention Team (KCIT) - a team funded through the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime & Delinquency to respond to crisis incidents within and on behalf of the Commonwealth.
Through the support of the Bedford County residents, church groups, and organizations, Your Safe Haven is able to provide support, comfort, encouragement, and information to crime victims within our community. Last year 1,640 Bedford County residents received services through Your Safe Haven. If you would like more information on any service provided through the agency call Your Safe Haven, Inc. at (814) 623-7664 or 1-800-555-5671
