FROM THE MINISTER OF CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

B.U.M.C. Christian Education Opportunities

 Mission Statement:

The mission of the Christian Education ministry of Bedford United Methodist Church is to present the Word of Christ to children, youth and adults, instill it in their hearts, and encourage their lives to radiate the Word.

Sunday School Mission Project:

Our classes of all ages have a joint mission project of donating a portion of their Sunday school offering every year to the Habitat for Humanity mission.  This is a wonderful ministry that helps people of all ages here in our community as well as those outside our community

We are a Safe Sanctuary Church

We have a Safe Sanctuary policy in effect for all of our children through the age of 18.  We have a two adult rule that there must always be two adults present.   Each person who works with children has been through a screening process which includes criminal and child abuse clearances and must have two recommendations from non-related people before they can be considered to work with the children.

Are you using your God given talents?

Every one of us has a special gift given to us by God which we are to use to glorify Him:

Romans 12:6-8 We have different gifts according to the grace given us. If a man’s gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach, if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.”

There are a variety of opportunities in our Christian Education ministry to use your gifts. Obviously we can use the gift of teaching, but we also can use the gift of organizing, serving, assisting our teachers, greeting and many other ways. If you have the desire to help, there’s a place in our Christian Education ministry for you. Don’t hesitate another minute, call 623-8711, ext. 24 and help us make our ministry of teaching the Word grow into the best ministry it can be.

So, I repeat “Are you using your God given gifts to glorify His name?
